Kade

This is Kade’s new snotty attitude.  In the second picture I was making him laugh he is usually much more focused on being ornery.

  • Kade had Kris read him a non fiction book on spiders.  A couple days later Kade found a spider on the wall and started screaming at me, “hurry mom hurry, there is a tarantula on the wall.”
  • Kade had a root beer in the car on the way to Aunt Marie’s house.  He played with Allisone for a few hours and when we got back in the car to leave he told me he was thirsty.  I didn’t have anything to give him but the last part of the root beer that had been sitting in the hot car.  He took a drink and said, “Mom it doesn’t hurt enough.” It took me a minute to figure what he was talking about.  The root beer was flat.
  • I have a bunch of sight words taped to the pantry door in the kitchen that we practice while we eat lunch.  We were practicing and got to the word cut.  Kade said, “That is cut, it is like cute but cute has a silent E.”  I was completely floored because I sure didn’t teach him about silent E’s.  I asked where he heard that and he said it was from his talking words video.  That is his video of choice for naps and bedtime at the moment.

In June (yes it’s June and he is in his winter coat) he got a new bike.  He was all for it at first and then just stopped and laid down on the handle bars.  He always takes a while to warm up to new things.  He has a scooter in the house that he didn’t use at all at first and now he rides it from room to room every day.

  • He says, “I have to tell you a question.”
  • He is really into body systems.  I showed him pictures on the internet and now he is fascinated.  Whenever he eats he has to tell you how it’s going down the tube in his neck into his sac then he tells you and points to where it comes out as peeps and poops.  He is also really interested in blood.  He looks for blue veins on everybody and tells them that is their blood.  He likes to come to mom’s work to see the blood machine.  His favorite is bones.  He pushes on anything hard on his body and tells you it is bones.  He also says that his bones are getting broken when Jaxson squishes him.  He will point to all different bones and ask what they are called.  He also talks about his muscles and how he is so strong because of them.

Do you ever wonder where the snotty attitude comes from? I'm sure I'm just beginning the joys of moodiness - but come on - where do kids learn these things?

I'll have to check out that video - anything to help the reading process along!

He is just so much like Wyatt from his interests to "I have to tell you a question." I have to know how the poop is going. Maybe that's not something to post on a blog.:) Email me if you've had any breakthroughs I can learn from.
