4th of July

For the 4th of July weekend we got the Bear Lake condo again, but we didn’t want to miss any fireworks so Friday we went to Logan first.  We went to my Aunt Marie’s house and Kade had the best time playing with Allisone.  While Kade was playing Grandma, Grandpa, Jaxson, and Kris and I went to the Cruise In.  Then Grandma and I took Jaxson to get his first real haircut.  He didn’t like the lady combing his hair and was squirming and trying to grab the scissors.  Then typical for Jaxson we gave him a sucker and all his attention went to eating.  He got a cute (straight) haircut and could finally open his eyes with out hair sticking to his eyelashes. 

Thanks to my cousin’s husband James we got to go watch the fireworks from the observatory at  USU.  They went off right above us.  Kade loved them but managed to fall asleep right before the finale.  Jaxson slept through the whole thing.  When they were over we drove to Bear Lake. 

Kade wasn’t as nervous this time at the lake and had fun playing in the waves.  Jaxson is fearless and loves the water but he is just as happy sitting on the beach playing in the sand.

We rented a jet ski Saturday and now wish we had one.  Kade only liked to go slow.  If we tried to go any faster than barely moving he would say it was too fast so we had quite a few very long leisurely rides.  Kris and I however almost fell off quite a few times on our rides.  

Kade always has room for cookies and Jaxson is always happy when he is eating.

Grandpa made this little pool and Jaxson and Caitlynn spent most of the time in it.

Even though it is July if you weren’t in the sun it was a little chilly.  Kade and Jaxson couldn’t quite make it with out a nap but they were quite cozy buried beneath the beach towels.

Sunday we went miniature golfing.  We went last time we came and this time Kade was pretty good.  I of course forgot the camera both times.   We also went swimming in the pool instead of the lake.  Jaxson has so much fun in the water I couldn’t choose just one picture of his happy face.

We did not do a great job with the sunscreen.  Both Jaxson and Kade got burned under their eyes and Jaxson got a stripe on his neck.  My knees, a stripe on each shoulder and a circle on my ankle all got burnt.  Kris’ face got it pretty bad but the worst was the tops of my dad’s feet.  His feet were so swollen he couldn’t even put on his boots.
