Dentist

We have never taken Kade to the dentist because we were afraid.  I can’t even describe the horrors of taking him to the doctor so we didn’t want to even attempt the dentist.    Kade came out of the bathroom from brushing his teeth and told me that he couldn’t get the cookie to come off his teeth.  I looked in and saw some black spots so we couldn’t put it off any longer.  Before we went we talked about how he had to open his mouth and let the dentist touch his teeth.  We practiced and told him that if he was good he could get the new Hot Wheels Octo-Battle toy he wanted.  Kade is a changed boy, I don’t know when or how it happened but my little terror has grown into the best boy.

When we got there they took him in for x-rays and as soon as he sat in the chair he opened his mouth and waited.

GetAttachment.aspx He let the girl scrape and clean his teeth and didn’t make a peep.  He was a complete angel.

He had 10 cavities.  We have never been really good at brushing his teeth because he would fight every time and he wore us down until we just quit.  He also takes a sippy cup of chocolate milk to bed with him so that doesn’t help either.  I think we will be much better after this.

We went to Toys R Us and he loves his new toy.

We had to go back two different times to get the cavities filled.  They only wanted to do one side at a time.  He was such a good boy again.  He just laid there and let them drill and spray water in his mouth.  He even wore the laughing gas mask with no fuss.  I just sat in the corner and thought so this is what it is like to have a normal child.  When we got home Kade was playing with the his new color changing cars (of course we had to go to Toys R Us again) and he asked me, “Mom how did the dentist make my cheek grow?”  That is a perfect way to describe the after the dentist feeling.

He wasn’t too excited about going back the second time, he said he didn’t want his cheek to tingle again.  He did a great job and this time got 2 new Bakugan.  I told him he was done going to the dentist and he asked me what was next.  I told him he had to go get shots so he can go to school.  He wasn’t too happy about that until he saw a new monster truck Hot Wheels commercial.  Sigh.

That is awesome! I am hoping Abigail doesn't have a lot of cavaties...we have started to slack off on brushing her teeth too! It is so nice when they don't fight you! But you may need to start a savings account just for bribing. :)
