At Kade’s preschool they have been practicing writing. I have tried to get him to write his name at home but he wasn’t really interested so I didn’t press it. All the papers he brings home from school always have his name filled out by his teacher but one day they started coming home signed by Kade.
These are the first drawings he has done where you can tell they are supposed to be something. This is is dad picking carrots and beans from the garden.
These are some fish. Kade says one is a funny fish and one is a mean fish.
Kade amazes me every day with the words he can read. He opened the hymn book at church and picked out the words prophets and Jesus, he brings me the remote and reads all the different buttons to me, he can pick up anything and find at least a couple words he can read. His teacher is sending home reading lists so they can learn blending. I’ve been trying to teach him blending for about 6 months but he just memorizes the word and then doesn’t need to sound it out anymore. He has the words on the lists he brings home learned after going through them with me one time. The good thing about whatever his teacher is doing at school is he can not only speed read them but he can go slow and sound out each one as well. He is my little smarty pants.
This is what I found in the bathroom one day. According to Kade it is a water splashing tower. He was very excited to turn on the water to show me what it did. As if I couldn’t tell by looking at the water sprayed all over the room.
We went to Provo and stayed in a hotel. Kade decided it was fun to jump from bed to bed. One time though, he hesitated, lost his balance, fell off and landed right on his nose. He didn’t want anyone to look at it and wouldn’t tell anyone what happened. I tried to tell him that his skin would grow back but he was convinced he was going to have a red nose forever.
Kade has started singing along to the songs on our ipods. He favorites are Weezer and Carolina Liar. He says that the “Show Me What I’m Looking For” song is what he could say when he is looking for his toys. Grandma is the primary chorister and she always makes Kade a book of the new primary songs she is teaching.
