Kade decided months ago that he wanted a Bowser cake with Mario Bros bad guys on it. It didn’t sound like a festive birthday cake but Grandma worked her magic and made an absolutely perfect cake for Kade.
Kade got to put the race cars on the track and the star candles where ever he wanted.
Grandma and Grandpa had to leave to go home after the cake was finished so we sang happy birthday and blew out candles.
He was pretty excited to get on to the presents so we decided not to eat cake until later.
His presents were all his favorite things, games, puzzles, and Mario Bros. with some water spraying dragons and pirate legos thrown in.
Mario Bros. happens to be Jaxson’s favorite as well and so we were a little worried he would be jealous. Kade was such a good brother that he tried to give Jax his Goomba toy and shirt. I told him that if he just shared them Jaxson would be happy.
Jaxson saw me open the stuffed Bowser when it came in the mail. He was so upset when I put it in my closet. I told him that it was a secret and that he couldn’t tell Kade. For two days he kept talking about the Bowser toy and we kept pretending that he was talking about the cake. I wrapped the presents the night before Kade opened them and Jaxson kept saying which one is the Bowser toy, where is it. He even took me back to my closet and told me he checked my closet and it was empty. Kade never caught on but it was pretty funny trying to get Jaxson to stop talking about it.
Since Grandma and Grandpa left before we ate cake, we invited the neighbors over to share it and have ice cream sundaes.
For about a week Kade had been telling me that he wanted to eat Bowser’s foot, Jaxson picked the tummy and all the other kids got to pick which part they wanted so Kris had to cut the cake in some interesting squares.
Grandma and Grandpa gave Kade a Mario sweatshirt and he wore it all day even though it was 90 degrees outside. In the air conditioned house it was ok to wear but he also wore it outside. I kept asking him if he was hot but he was positive that he wasn’t.
