We spent the afternoon of Jaxson’s birthday at Cottonwood Wash catching tadpoles.
Kade would catch them in his cup and Grandma would pour them into the jar.
Kade caught about 50 tadpoles and Jaxson just played in the water and mud.
Jaxson wanted to jump in this very deep puddle.
Dad wouldn’t let him.
To end that meltdown I showed him how to throw rocks in the water to make big splashes. He spent the rest of the time we were there throwing rocks.
Kade was still busy catching more tadpoles.
He finally decided we had enough and went to help Jaxson throw rocks in the water next to Grandpa so he would get splashed.
This went on until dad found a crawdad. Kris tried to get it in the cup but Kade did not want him to catch it. He was worried it would pinch him.
Kade was glad to see it go.
We made a pond for Kade’s tadpoles in Grandma’s aquarium. We are hoping they stay alive this year so we can watch them change into frogs.
