Ornaments and Candy Canes

When Kade was in preschool he made some very cute ornaments that I loved to add to our tree.

This year in Kindergarten he has been bringing home paper monstrosities that do not match my tree.  Every time he would bring another one home he would tell me that Mrs. Dahle said he could bring it home to hang on our tree.  I would curse Mrs. Dahle and let him put them on the side that doesn’t face the front door.  Next year I’m going to have to put up a little tree in his room so he can hang his treasures in his own room.

He did bring home one the last day before Christmas break that will be allowed to stay.  It is his hand print on a ball and the fingers are dressed as snowmen.  It came home with this poem.

These aren’t just five little snowmen

As anyone can see.

I made them with my hand

Which is a part of me!

Now each year when you trim the tree

You’ll look back and recall Christmas of 2010

When my hand was just this small!
