Getting Excited for Halloween

I have some pretty good helpers when it comes to decorating.

DSC_0004 I don’t really know why he has a basket on his head but he decorated it with a skeleton, a spider and a scorpion.

I showed Kade this picture and he decided that we had to make a mouse house pumpkin so we got some mice and a few pumpkins but it was way to early to carve them yet.rat pumpkin I was out weeding and Kade came to sit by me and he told me that he had started making the mouse holes.  I went up to survey the damage and sure enough he had used the car keys and a pen to start his mouse house.  Of course Jaxson had to get in on the action.

DSC_0187 Kade should probably learn not to sign things he may get in trouble for.

I was just going to put some crows in our birdcage but Kade told me it needed a skeleton.  I think he was right.

I have found that the trick to keep everyone out of the candy corn is to keep some extra in the kitchen for them to eat.  This year no one is even interested in the candy corn.  I filled this jar with jelly beans and tried the same trick.  Kade and Jaxson have gone through the extra in the kitchen and my jar on this shelf is half empty.  They can’t reach it but Jaxson will go stand under it and scream yellybe until you either go mad or just give him some.DSC_0081 I have never tried anything from Martha Stewart that has worked out but these ghosts looked pretty easy. Here is what they are supposed to look like.

cheesecloth ghostsYou dip cheesecloth in liquid starch and put it on these molds.  She used tinfoil for the head but I was out so I used balls.  The whole time the ghosts were drying Jaxson would go in the kitchen and screech ball at them.  He was very angry with me because I wouldn’t give him his balls.  I found the trick to making them look more flowy is to wring out the cheesecloth instead of putting it on dripping wet.DSC_0024 DSC_0025

So when are you coming to help me decorate my house? I don't even need anything fancy, just something on my walls would be nice! You always have such cute ideas!
