Getting Kade a haircut is something Kris and I both dread. The whole experience is horrible and humiliating. Here are some pictures of his last haircut.
Kade’s hair was getting long again and this time I decided to try bribery. He goes completely crazy as soon as we try to put him in that little car that I didn’t think it would work but it was worth a try. We were going to go ride Thomas any way on Memorial Day weekend so I told him that if he sat still and didn’t cry during his haircut we would go ride Thomas. For a full week we talked about how to sit still and how he couldn’t cry or we wouldn’t go ride Thomas. I would even lift up his hair and pretend to cut it so he could practice holding still.
We walked in to Cookie Cutters fully expecting him to go into his freak out mode. I put him in the airplane and thought hmm he’s not kicking and trying to scratch my eyes out, good sign. Then she pulled out the cape. He will not let them put that cape on him and so Kris and I held our breath. We were absolutely shocked that he didn’t make a peep. I kept reminding him about Thomas and that little stink sat still the entire time. He let her spray his head, cut, and even use the electric trimmer over his ears.
He was so tense and you could tell how hard he was trying the whole time.
This is the first haircut that is straight in the back and does not have long hairs left over his ears. As soon as she said he was done he said, “Mom I didn’t cry and I held still, let’s go ride Thomas.” I was completely shocked and so proud of him. I hope he is growing up!! Tonight when he was looking at these pictures he had to tell me all about how he held still and didn’t cry so he got to go ride Thomas.
