Christmas 2009

We went to Grandma and Grandpa’s for Christmas this year.  When the boys woke up they got all of the stuff out of their stockings and then we went in the living room for the Christmas story.  We used Grandma’s nativity and Kade got to put the pieces in their places as Kris told the story.  Kade was paying very close and attention and we were all enjoying it until Jaxson tried to take the glass shepherd and smash it through the glass coffee table.  After that we went in the family room to see what Santa brought.

This is what was causing Kade’s expression.

You would think from his scowl that he didn’t like it but he was really more mad that someone took his binks away for the picture.

Kade actually screamed when he opened his transformer balls (Bakugan).  Every time it got quiet the rest of the day we knew Kade was playing with them.  He has twelve of them and he knows exactly which part on each one has to go first in order for them to close.  He let Grandpa play with one and he couldn’t get it shut so Kade said, “Here Grandpa, this is a easy one” and gave him a different one.

This was the first year that Kade told us what he wanted for Christmas.  He thought he was only going to get one present so he kept changing his mind.  It was fun to watch him open his presents because he was so amazed that he got what he asked for.  He kept saying mom this is just what I wanted, or this is my favorite, or I saw this on TV.  It made Christmas that much more fun for us.

Was it just as fun not being in your own house? I can't imagine having to move presents somewhere else for Christmas morning...

They look like they were good all year long!
