I saw some pictures of a place called The Falls that one of my friends posted on Facebook and it looked like fun so while we were in Blanding for Mother’s Day weekend we went exploring. We put all the car seats in the Escalade and took off for Canyonlands. We got to the turn off and it was a dirt road that broke in the Caddy as an off road vehicle. We even had to pull over for another car to pass and scratched it in the brush. We weren’t sure what to expect when we got there and we were not very prepared. I took swimming suits for Kade and Kris but not for Jaxson . Caitlynn didn’t have one either so she just wore a shirt and undies because her pull up got so full of water it was just falling off. Kade wore a very lovely dragonfly tank top courtesy of Caitlynn. To top it off it’s also on inside out. :o) I tried to get him to take it off for the pictures but he wouldn’t hear of it. I took two memory cards full of pictures so there are tons of pics in this post.
Caitlynn is a little dare devil. She thought those falls were just like a water slide and just took off and tried to go down them.
She loved swimming in this waterfall. It was really deep underneath it and she just kept running right in. Kris had to keep catching her before she ran off the drop off. Kade on the other hand wanted nothing to do with going in the deep part. He completely freaked out when Kris tried to take him close to the waterfall.
This was Kade’s favorite spot. It was a little ledge just perfect for him to sit on. It was also a perfect perch for Grandpa.
This just shows how much fun we were having. Kade forgot to freak out that he was getting dirty. He did let out a few shrieks when the mud got on his face but then he went right back to playing in it.
And where was Jaxson this whole time? Eating of course. He ate almost 1/2 a box of goldfish and was perfectly content.
When Kris wasn’t busy keeping Caitlynn from drowning herself he enjoyed the waterfall as well.
Kade and Dad even got into a mud fight. No actual mud touched either one but Grandpa was right in the line of fire.
Jaxson finished with his goldfish so I took off his socks to let him put his feet in the water.
That lasted about 2 seconds before he was arching his back and squirming to try and reach the water. So mom relented and let him join in the fun.
I don’t think he has ever had so much fun. He only ate the mud once but he tried to quite a few more times, we just got faster at stopping him.
After the mud fight Kade looked down and started crying because he was so dirty. He wanted to go in the deep part to get cleaned off but he was too scared to because Kris traumatized him with the waterfall. The fact that he was dirty finally won out and he went in to wash off.
It was a good thing we took a case of water. We used it to shower the sand off of everyone. When we got home we roasted hotdogs and marshmallows. Kade wouldn’t eat his smore because it was, “too sticky for him” but Jaxson loved his.

What a great family outing -looks like so much fun! Kade sounds like my nephew, Colton, he hates getting dirty too. He would freak out when we would take him out to the farm to be with Grandpa. Now that he's older he is a TON better and will actually eat a smore.
That looks like so much fun!! I miss Utah :( Your boys are too cute Mindy. I love the pictures of Jaxon in the water in his diaper, love the chubby tummy and arms :)
