This morning (03-29-09) Kade came into our room at 0430 AM because his TV wasn’t working and Thomas wouldn’t come on. Sure enough the power was out. It came back on sometime after that and when we were getting ready for church the wind started getting pretty bad. We went into Jaxson’s room and watched the tumbleweeds, and garbage blow around the neighborhood. The power went back out at about 0800 and shortly after we got a call that church had been canceled. We called the power company and they said it would be out until 1430. Kade started to get restless so he went to his room and was trying to flip his light switch on and off. I could hear him muttering to himself. He came out a few minutes later whining that his TV wouldn’t turn on. I told him the power was out and so the TV and the lights wouldn’t work. Of course he didn’t like this answer so he brought me some batteries and asked me to put them in his TV.
We were getting cold so we decided to go to Tooele to Mcdonalds so Kade could play on the slides. We got happy meals and Monsters Vs. Aliens toys and played for a couple hours. Thankfully when we got home the power was back on.
Kade had been complaining for a few days that his ear hurt but after he screamed a little bit he would be fine and play for a couple hours and then scream about his ear again. We did not want to take him to the doctor because he is such a terror. At his 3 year old check up we had to wrestle him on the scale, they just gave up trying to get the oxygen reading on his finger. He kicked and screamed during his exam. Kris had to hold him down and they both ended up a sweaty mess. We finally decided we better take him in. I told Kade that he had to sit still, not cry, and not wiggle and the doctor was going to look in his ear with a magnifying glass to see if it was broken. I told him if he was good and didn’t cry his dad would take him back to Mcdonalds. I don’t know what has gotten into this boy but Kris said he was an angel. He got weighed, he let them put the little clip on his finger and he sat still while the doctor looked in his ear. Kris was holding him and said his whole body was just shaking. The doctor said he has a double ear infection. When they got home from Mcdonalds I asked Kade how the doctor was, he said, “The doctor hurt me” and “it wasn’t a magnifying glass it was a flashlight, the light hurt me”. Kade fell off the couch today and landed on his head. I was rocking him as he cried he told me he needed to go to the doctor again so he could feel better.
