Mom was off work on maternity leave this summer so we had some fun.
Two days after Jaxson was born it was Kris’ work party at Lagoon so Dad, Grandma, and Kade ditched mom and the new baby to go play. Kade was not too impressed with the slow rides. He did like the fast ones and actually smiled.
Kade has a few quirks. We have been trying to get him a bike for a year now but he refuses to sit on one. This summer he finally decided that a sitting on a bike is not a form of torture so Grandma and Grandpa got him one.
We went to Raging Waters with Uncle Trevor, Aunt Jenn and Andruw and Caitlynn. Kade was very timid at first. Walking up the stairs to the slide there was water spraying everywhere. When we first got there he would walk up the stairs with his hand in front of his face so it wouldn't get wet. By the end we couldn’t get him to leave. Jaxson just slept in his stroller the whole time.
For the 4th of July we were working on our yard but we took time out to go to the Grantsville parade and fireworks. Kade loved the sirens which is good because that was pretty much the whole parade. Jaxson slept right through them all.
We worked so hard this summer making Kade his own park and finishing up the front yard. Someday it will be Jaxson and Kade’s park but right now it is known as just Kade’s Park. We about wore Grandpa out. He put together the playground, set a cinderblock wall to hold in the play chips, laid decorative brick around my flowerbeds, hauled dirt, unloaded mulch, moved the sandbox, made us a drip system, and planted trees. Kris was lucky he got to go to work (from kris: yeah, because making money to pay for the park is overrated). I helped as much as I could but Jaxson was only a month old and I wasn’t exactly in tip top shape, and Grandma was stuck in the house watching the kids. This is how it turned out.
I’m far from a gardener and after we planted the bushes we saw some in the neighborhood and they are going to be about 8 feet tall so we’ll see what in turns into in a couple years.
We also went to Montpelier to visit Grandma and Grandpa Brough. Kade had never made smores before and they have cats and Kade loves cats. He spent most of his time loving all the cats.
Notice that we had to have a wipe close by to clean off anything sticky. Kade hates to be sticky.

Kade is so cute. I love the baby stage when they sleep all the time. Kade's park is so nice, I wish we had a little play area for Grace!
